John “Wan” fell in love with acupuncture at the same time he fell in love with Aikido in 1996 at Ohio State University. He loved the idea of healing and self-empowerment while incorporating the use of energy. He moved from Ohio to Seattle to become an acupuncturist in 1997 and graduated from Bastyr University in 2000 with a Master’s of Science in Acupuncture. He has a strong western science background through the university, but his technique has evolved to keep it simple and work with the laws of nature. It involves a six-channel balance system; reverse imaging and mirroring of the body parts; and incorporating the microsystems within the macrosystems of the meridians. He moved to NYC in 2003 and moved back to Seattle in 2005 Seattle to continue training with his teacher in aikido. He mainly specializes in pain management, but acupuncture is beneficial in aiding optimal health in many phases of the body’s rhythm. Wann resides in Seattle with his wife, daughters, and two dogs- Miles and Leo.
